The First Commission: a Wizard

Image
Brennan is going to need an Avatar for his new D&D Campaign, and had this Image to work with for color: And chose Reaper's Satheras, Warlock from the UnPainted files:

18. Darbin the Deadly--from the Reaper Drop

Image
This guy is from the Reaper Dungeon Adventurers boxed set.  Another drunken re-do. Note from the future:  Darbin is right there with Drexel:  I can only admit it to myself now, but I did a bad job on the last few minis from the Dungeon Adventurers set, just to move on to the next minis.

17. Drexel Sparrowhawk, Paladin--from the Reaper Drop

Image
I feel like coming back to this later.  Some of the sculpts from this boxed set aren't great Note from the future:  nope, this was me doing a bad job after drinking.  Drexel is my first candidate for stripping and a re-do if I ever break the cardinal rule of "Never Go Back" This guy is from the Reaper Dungeon Adventurers boxed set..also a work in progress here.

16. Dern Ironfist--from the Reaper Drop

Image
Dern Ironfist, from the Citadel, seeking to liberate his clan from oppression, or something A Dwarf Fighter from the Reaper Dungeon Adventurers boxed set.  Dern is also only washed a little and is almost ready for Tabletop use, below.

15. Christina the Devout--from the Reaper Drop

Image
Christina might be evil if you put her next to a bunch of kobolds, or she could be dispelling undead This is my first attempt at colored eyes This Lady is from the Reaper Dungeon Adventurers boxed set, and is a work in progress...

14. Hajad the Pirate--from the Layer it Up! kit

Image
Hajad...an untrustable rogue and pirate, but handy in a tight situation With just some washes, Hajad looks good before any detailing at all...but I will put him in the WIP category for now...(below).  I was originally going to make him black, but i didn't think you could see the moustache I wanted... Ib decided Hajad is not black, and has a moustache.  Of course, he looks much better with a little detail--I'm still exploring the Camera+ 2 app for photography I do have to say that all of the figures I've painted so far look WAYYYY better at arm's length.  This picture is taken at about 2' range compared to the one above which was taken at about 6" According to the scheme of "Painting levels" (because I don't think these look particularly awesome in Macro photo mode) this means I'm panting at level 4 on that scale.  I hit all details, use more than three color, use at least four layers of highlighting/s

13. Goldar the Barbarian

Image
a nice video by Carrero Arts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO0uuRU8aWY&list=WL&index=14 Goldar is a barbarian:  fearless in battle, but untrusting of magic and terrified of the undead...  Goldar has the hot eyebrow, like the Rock.  Or maybe i made his eyes uneven
